Coco Jones: R&B’s Rising Star Shines Brighter Than Ever
From Gold Certification to BET Nominations, Coco Jones is Unstoppable
In a year marked by breakthroughs and accolades, Coco Jones, the multi-talented actress, singer/songwriter, and R&B sensation, continues to ascend to new heights. Her hit single “ICU” has achieved RIAA Gold certification and topped both the Mediabase and Billboard Mainstream Urban Charts, solidifying her status as R&B’s new “It Girl.”
Jones, who has previously been nominated for BET and BET Soul Train Awards and won the NAACP Image Award for “Best New Artist,” has added three more 2023 BET Awards nominations to her impressive resume. These include Best New Artist, Best Female R&B/Pop, and Best Actress. The BET Awards, set to air live from Los Angeles on June 25th, will also feature Jones among the first group of performers announced.
Adding to her musical repertoire, Jones has released a new performance video for “Crazy For Me,” a standout track from her debut EP, WHAT I DIDN’T TELL YOU.

The EP, which includes the Top 10 Best Song of 2022 “ICU,” as named by The Hollywood Reporter, was expanded in January with a deluxe version. The deluxe edition added four new tracks to the original seven, including “Double Back,” and “Simple,” a duet with Babyface.
Jones’ journey to stardom began as a young Disney star, transitioning into film roles, and then joining the cast of Peacock’s Bel-Air as ‘Hilary Banks.’ The Fresh Prince reboot premiered in February 2022 and has been a hit with audiences. In March 2023, Jones was selected as BET Amplified Artist Of the Month, and she has also been recognized by YouTube Music’s Black Voices ’23, Spotify’s ‘23 R&B Artists to Watch, Pandora’s ‘23 Artist to Watch, Apple Music’s Future 40, and Essence’s 35 Under 35: Young, Black, & Amazing.
