Davido And Tems Slated To Perform At This Year’s Edition Of The Governors Ball In New York

At the Governors Ball Festival in 2023 in the United States of America, two renowned Afrobeats musicians from Nigeria, Davido and Tems, have been billed to perform. The 2023 Governors Ball will take place over three days at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, New York, from Friday, June 9, to Sunday, June 11, and feature performances by three of the biggest names in American music: Lizzo, Kendrick Lamar, and Odesza.

On the event’s first night, Lizzo will play with Afrobeats sensation Davido, Lil Uzi Vert, Haim, Omar Apollo, Kim Petras, Joey Bada$$, 070 Shake, PJ Morton, Michelle, Alexander 23, and more. The following day, on June 10, Saturday, Lil Baby, Aespa, Rina Sawayama, Lauv, Oliver Tree, Finneas, Kenny Beats, Koffee, Snail Mail, SYD, Suki Waterhouse, Kennyhoopla, Lovejoy, and other artists will play alongside Odesza. While the famous Kendrick Lamar will give the closing headlining performance on Sunday, June 11. Lil Nas X, Giveon, SOFI TUCKKER, Pusha T, Girl in Red, Central Cee, Tems, Phony Ppl, Cat Burns, Black MIDI, Coast Contra, and more will all perform at the festival.

Notably, the festival also reinforced its dedication to the city and the Queens borough by forming alliances with charitable groups, including Chhaya and the Elmhurst/Corona Recovery Collective. In addition, the School of Rock Queens and The School of Rock Brooklyn will join the diverse musical ensemble on Friday and Saturday.
