Davido Discloses the Reasons A Drake Sample Didn’t Make The Cut On His “Timeless” Album

Drake’s voice was meant to be on the DMW frontline act’s latest record, but it didn’t work out. David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, is a prominent heavyweight singer from Nigeria. He has remarked on a Drake sample that was going to be on his new album, “Timeless.”

The highly awaited studio album “Timeless” by the Nigerian international sensation is finally available. With guest features from Skepta, Angelique Kidjo, Asake, Musa Keys, Focalistic, FAVE, The Cavemen, Dexta Daps, and the recently signed artists on his facelifted DMW 2.0 imprint, Logos Olori, and Morravey, the 17-track album serves as the 4th in Davido’s celebrated catalog, following his previous studio efforts, ‘A Better Time,’ ‘A Good Time,’ and ‘Omo Baba Olowo (The Genesis).’

In an interview with BEAT FM, which changed its name to TIMELESS FM (meant to continue for two days) in the musician’s honor, the singer said that Fridayy, a DJ Khaled-endorsed artist featuring a Drake sample, wasn’t able to be cleared in time, so he had to go with releasing the album without it.

Nonetheless, Davido announced that the album’s deluxe edition would come after and most likely contain the song mentioned above. During the conversation, he also acknowledged Drake for assisting him in clearing the sample.
