Davido Promises To Bring Timeless Concert To Warri; Apologizes For Absence And Gives Reasons

The megastar of Afrobeats, Davido, has written a letter of apology to his Delta State supporters, who were let down by his absence from the Warri Again concert on October 6, 2023. Due to his absence from the Amaju Pinnick-hosted Warri Again event, Davido was at the heart of a controversy. Fans and supporters of Davido in Delta State eagerly anticipated his performance at the Warri Again concert but were disappointed when he failed to show up. The megastar’s absence sparked speculation and disappointment among his loyal followers, prompting Davido to address the issue with a heartfelt apology.

Amaju Pinnick, a former head of the Nigerian Football Federation, claimed that the organizers paid Davido $98,000 and spent $18,000 for a private jet to take him to Delta State. Pinnick claimed that after agreeing to the date and taking the cash, Davido did not show up. In his response to Pinnick, Davido accused the former NFF president of being a dishonest football official who failed to pay salaries and allowances to Nigerian footballers in a series of tweets on X (Twitter) and his Instagram story.

Davido responded that no one could prevent him from performing anywhere in Nigeria after Amaju Pinnick said he wouldn’t be welcomed back in Delta State in his statements. Davido apologized to his fans on his Instagram story and said that despite informing the Warri Again promoters of his inability to attend the event due to a conflict with his New Zealand gig, they continued using his name in their marketing efforts.

Davido expressed regret to his disgruntled supporters in Warri and pledged to soon bring his “Timeless Xperience Concert” to Delta State. Davido presented the Timeless event at Tafawa Balewa Square Lagos after his fourth, ground-breaking album, “Timeless,” which set new records, was released. A second Nigerian stop for the event may be planned due to the commitment to his Delta States followers.
