Fireboy DML Promises That His Next Project Will Be Both “Cohesive And Entertaining”
Fireboy appears all set to drop a new album in 2024.
One of the Afrobeats performers that adorned the 66th Grammy Awards, held in Los Angeles on February 5, 2024, was Nigerian music sensation Fireboy DML. When Fireboy was interviewed by Rollingstone on the Grammys red carpet, he discussed his future album and the development of the Nigerian music scene.
Regarding the 66th Grammy Awards nominations for Davido, Burna Boy, Asake & Olamide, and Ayra Starr, Fireboy said that it’s unbelievable and that it’s one of the reasons Nigerian musicians have been working so hard.
DML continued, saying that it was nice to be acknowledged by organizations like the Grammys since it highlights the effort and progress made by Nigerian musicians. He said that he has been listening to a lot of street musicians, whose music is bringing a cool element to the soundscape, when asked about the Afrobeats artists he has been enjoying.
Fireboy revealed that he is finishing up his album in Los Angeles, which will be released later in 2024. The celebrated musician revealed that his new record will be influenced by the lessons he learnt in 2023 about concentrating on the important things in life. The eagerly awaited fourth album from Fireboy will be released in 2022. His previous album, “Playboy,” came out in 2022 to critical acclaim.
