Devon Cole Unveils Emotionally Charged Single ‘1-800-GOT-STRESS’

Toronto-based Singer-Songwriter Confronts Anxiety in New Release

Toronto’s own alt-pop sensation, Devon Cole, has released a new single and accompanying music video, “1-800-GOT-STRESS”, through RCA Records. The emotionally charged track showcases Cole’s vulnerability as she grapples with her personal experiences with anxiety.

In “1-800-GOT-STRESS”, Cole gives voice to feelings of helplessness and loss, a reflection of her own struggles with anxiety. She hopes that the song will resonate with listeners who have faced similar struggles, providing a sense of understanding and visibility.

The music video, directed by Columinati Films, complements the song’s raw emotion. It features Cole wandering through desolate streets, singing in the back of a taxi and from within a phone booth, all under the watchful gaze of billboards bearing the song’s title.

This new release follows Cole’s candid track “Call U After Rehab”, which has garnered significant critical acclaim. Publications such as Raydar Magazine have praised her honesty and vulnerability, noting that her music will resonate with listeners who can relate to the broader theme of self-care. Pop Dust has complimented Cole’s versatile voice, while V Magazine featured the song in their “New Music Roundup”, describing it as “self-reflective”.

In addition to her music, Cole is also making waves with her live performances. She is set to headline the King City Craft Beer & Food Truck Festival and will be performing at the Sound Of Music Festival, Toronto Pride, and opening for Bedouin Soundclash at Wasaga Beach.

Over the past year, the 24-year-old artist has emerged as a compelling force in the music industry. Her viral single “W.I.T.C.H.” (Woman in Total Control of Herself) has surpassed 80 million streams. Following this success, she released the catchy, sex-positive anthem “Hey Cowboy”.

Since signing with RCA Records in 2022, Cole has been on the brink of a significant breakthrough. She has accumulated millions of streams across her music, received praise from Billboard, V Magazine, Bustle, and Earmilk, and has been nominated for ‘Breakthrough Artist of the Year’ at the 2023 Juno Awards and ‘Favorite Breakout Artist’ at the 2023 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
