Drake Celebrates Matching Michael Jackson’s Record On The Billboard Hot 100

In terms of the number of No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 list, Drake has matched Michael Jackson’s record. Drizzy and J. Cole’s song “First Person Shooter,” which was released on October 6 following the release of his new album For All the Dogs, debuted at the top of the singles chart. By accomplishing this, Drake has equaled Michael Jackson’s record of 13 Hot 100 No. 1 singles.

They are only preceded in popularity by The Beatles (20), Mariah Carey (19), and Rihanna (14). Drizzy posted two photos on Instagram to commemorate the occasion: one of himself wearing a sparkly, Michael Jackson-inspired glove while out to dinner, and the other of the late King of Pop wearing an OVO hoodie and the message, “Mooooooooood.”

According to the 6 God, who coincidentally rapped about breaking Jackson’s record on “First Person Shooter,” he should have already surpassed it, he claimed in another post. Drake also holds seven of the top ten spots on this week’s Billboard Hot 100, with “First Person Shooter” taking the top spot, owing to songs from For All the Dogs.

The top five songs in order of debuting popularity were “IDGAF” with Yeat at No. 2, “Virginia Beach” at No. 3, “Calling for You” at No. 5, “Slime You Out” with SZA at No. 6, “Daylight” at No. 8 and “Fear of Heights” at No. 10.
