Ed Sheeran Slips And Falls While Going Onstage In Japan

Ed Sheeran is officially back on the road and he’s taking it easy.

The 32-year-old singer opened his “+–=÷×” Tour (called “Mathematics”) in Japan on Saturday, and although the audience had an easy time, Sheeran almost had a serious accident.

Sheeran was getting ready to perform live at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan, when he stumbled and fell to his knees while holding his guitar, as seen in an Instagram video. But he bounced back swiftly, and he started playing the guitar for the enthusiastic crowd before grinning impishly at the cameraman beneath the platform who had recorded the tumble.

The performance’s opener, Calum Scott, admitted that from his place in the stadium, he had been totally oblivious of the fall. Although Sheeran’s performance on Saturday was his first in Japan in 2024, he has already given three performances since the year began.

He began the tour on January 15 in Bahrain, then played two dates in Dubai on January 19 and 20, then spent two nights in Osaka before wrapping up his Japan tour on January 31 at the Tokyo Dome.

Before concluding the tour leg in Mumbai on March 16, the Grammy winner will continue his run of performances throughout Asia through March, visiting Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
