German Football Star Benjamin Heinrichs Reveals Burna Boy Is His Favorite Afrobeats Artiste
Afrobeats is gaining popularity worldwide, with its artists and sound going global and capturing the hearts of entertainment and sports personalities.
In a video shared by sports journalist Oma Akatugba, Benjamin Heinrichs, a German footballer of Ghanaian descent, expressed his admiration for Burna Boy, a Nigerian Grammy-winning Afrobeats artist. Heinrichs revealed that Burna Boy is his favourite Afrobeats artist and sang along to some of the African Giant’s songs in the video. The display of his love for Burna Boy in the video shows how big of a fan Heinrichs is of the Nigerian musician’s work.
During a conversation with John Jackson, the German DFL Pokal winner was asked to pick between three of Nigeria’s biggest music stars – Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy. In response, the winner mentioned a Burna. This suggests that he has a personal preference for the African Giant over the others.
When asked about his favourite, Henrichs replied;
“Burna boy, because he’s making good music.”
The 26-year-old German defender listed some of Burna Boy’s hit songs and even vibed to them, explaining the Nigerian superstar’s music’s sensational effect on him.
“You know on the low, It’s plenty. You know, it’s good vibes. Davido and Wizkid are also very good,”
