Ilbliss Finally Releases “Sideh Kai,” His Highly Anticipated Eighth Studio Album

Illbliss, a seasoned Nigerian hip-hop artist, has returned with Sideh Kai, a full-length album that was released on his Gosibe Goretti label. His eighth studio album, which has sixteen tracks, is a sequel to his 2020 album ILLY CHAPO X. With a great deal of respect for his Igbo background, Sideh Kai’s LP delivers a conceptual journey that explores refinement, resiliency, luxury, and class.

For instance, “Red Caps (Igbo),” the album’s opening track, is a strong song that sets the tone for the adventure to come. It honors the Igbo people, their way of life, and their unwavering spirit. Illbliss raps on his origins, his challenges, and his victories throughout the album, illustrating this subject of identity.

But Sideh Kai is more than just self-reflection. Illbliss’s ability to deliver powerful bars and his skill as a lyricist are demonstrated on tracks like “God Is God” and “Peace of Mind.” His seamless transitions between fluid flows and quick wordplay leave listeners wanting more.

The Sideh Kai LP has an incredible guest list. On “Full Chest,” Odumodublvck adds his trademark fluid flow, while on Successful, Vector contributes his witty commentary. On “Chukwu Ebuka,” Umu Obiligbo contributes their silky touch, while on Spirit, Cobhams Asuquo and Made Kuti combine to produce a special blend. The rest of the list includes Yukel, Deborah Prest, Teni, Lade, Acetune, and Fave, each of whom gives the record a unique taste.
