Kanye West & Ty Dolla $ign “Shop Deal” For Joint Album; Duo To “Make Decision” Soon

According to reports, Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign have several options for choosing a distributor for their anticipated collaborative album. The musicians “will make a decision soon,” according to sources close to them, Billboard reported on Friday, October 13. The album was reportedly supposed to be released on October 13 but has since been postponed by a few weeks.

Because of Ye’s antisemitic outbursts from the previous year, many large labels have declined to collaborate with him. This presents a chance for smaller platforms to come in and increase their traffic if they can secure the collaboration. The distribution and publishing company Too Lost and do-it-yourself websites like Distrokid or Tunecore are among the many competitors. The Yeezy boss launched its sequel solely on Stem Player after releasing his previous album via a label, Donda, in 2021.

Ty Dolla $Ign recently updated and revived an old Kanye West leak to generate excitement for their next album. Last week, it wasn’t entirely unexpected when the 41-year-old took over the turntables at a club in Florence, Italy, reviving his previously shelved collaboration with Ye and Nicki Minaj, “New Body.” In fact, he did the same thing the previous month. Dolla $ign gave a massive announcement to the crowd at the end of September when he teased the track at the Le Baroque Club in Geneva, Switzerland, after it had been missing for years. He said, “New album on the muthafuckin’ way.”

The release date for Kanye West’s anticipated 2019 album, Yeandhi, was supposed to coincide with Nicki Minaj’s reunion with him on “New Body.” Still, it didn’t work out, and their joint project was eventually abandoned. She explained that Kanye chose to create a gospel album because the song wasn’t dropping in an interview.
