Kanye West’s “VULTURES 2” Undergoing “Final Tweaks”; Might Not Drop On Streaming

It’s imperative to highlight that James Blake’s recent statements on the music industry have struck a chord with many. The English musician raised several crucial issues, including the exploitation of artists, the adverse impact of a streaming-dominated economy on creativity, and the potential harm caused by algorithmic engagement platforms like TikTok. While Kanye West may have his reasons to push back against streaming media, it’s evident that these issues apply to all artists. Despite Ye and Ty Dolla’s promise to release VULTURES 2 on March 8, the album has not been released yet. However, a Twitter account called @yefanatics has been communicating with the Chicago artist and his team, providing regular updates on the project. The fan page has recently posted message screenshots on social media, revealing that Ye confirmed playing VULTURES 1 and 2 at their Phoenix listening event on March 10, along with a new track called “Slide,” which is expected to be part of the trilogy. He had some intriguing questions for @yefanatics and the fans regarding the upcoming VULTURES albums.

He wrote via direct message,

“Was talking with the team about how to release the next album”
“Like James Blake said, streaming devalues our music. We sell albums on Yeezy.com. I have 20 million Instagram followers. When 5% of my followers buy an album, that’s 1 million albums sold—300k more than the biggest album last year. We sold 1 million items on Yeezy.com on Super Bowl Sunday, so we know it’s possible. How do you feel about us not streaming and only selling the album digitally?”

VULTURES 2 has the potential to become a significant musical moment against streaming. It’s worth noting, however, that Donda 2 was only released via the Yeezy Stem Player. Despite this, VULTURES 1 has been a smashing success on streaming platforms. Therefore, there’s every reason to shake things up for the sequel. Casual listeners won’t stop playing “CARNIVAL” anytime soon, so the next installment should cater more to the core fanbase.
