Oxlade, Asake, And Others Make The List Of Nigeria’s Most Searched Artists In 2022

Afrobeats have been the centre of global attraction for a minute now. The reach of the African sound traveled far this year probably more than any other year. And there is something about wanting to know an artist that evoked a certain emotion in you, especially when it’s a really happy one. Exactly this is what is currently happening with new international fans and their fave African artists.

Ikuforiji Olaitan Abdulrahman, well known by his stage name Oxlade, is one Afrobeat star enjoying this attention in abundance as he has come up as the Most Searched Music Artist on Google this year in Nigeria. The musician, who has had success this year thanks to his hit song “Kulosa,” is at the top of the chart for the first time in 2022.

This is a result of the popular song that dominated social media platforms and streaming services, particularly Tiktok. The list also includes Asake, Ruger, and Buju as artists. Wizkid, Olamide, Burna Boy, and Davido unexpectedly did not make the cut.

Still riding the Kulosa viral wave, Oxy has announced the remix to that song with the gorgeous and talented Camila Cabello. They both showed excitement for the new music as they both posted snippets to whet the appetites of their fans.
