Portable Asks Davido For A Feature, Shares Video Of Their Exchange
Davido and Portable, two Nigerian musicians making waves in their own right, recently stirred some discussion on the internet after an audio clip of them went viral. Davido had placed a voice message with The Zazu star and was heard hailing him. The “Ika Of Africa” utilized the opportunity to ask OBO for a verse while also applauding his efforts in the audio. In the Afrobeats music scene, Nigerian street-hop musician Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable Omolalomi, has been on the news more frequently, creating waves -controversial or not. He considers himself the hottest up-and-coming talent in the afrobeats music industry.
Portable decided to go a step further and publicly implore Afrobeats star Davido for a musical collaboration after receiving tremendous support and attention from his fans. Before this, he begged Burna Boy and Wizkid, two other prominent Afrobeats artists, to work with him, but he hasn’t heard back.
On his Instagram page, the Zazu act posted a video of his discussion with Davido, in which he pleadingly begged for a verse to be included in one of his tracks. Indeed, quite Surprisingly, Davido left a voice message in response to Portable’s direct message, which Portable shared on social media to let his friends and followers know about. But the artist didn’t stop there, saying he was eager to collaborate with the singer and had a chorus ready for them to work on. He also said that he was prepared for the collaboration.
The interaction between Davido and Portable prompted a response from a woman named Olamide on Twitter, who hoped it wouldn’t turn into another rip-off story. This comes after a string of incidents since he first gained notoriety. Portable made news numerous times for denouncing his purported allies who had reportedly tried to “rip” him. he had such a beef With Poco Lee, with whom he had a contentious social media exchange.
