Rema Declares His Desire To Collaborate With Megan Thee Stallion And Nicki Minaj

Following the success of his smash duet with Selena Gomez, “Calm Down,” raving pop artist Divine Ikubor aka Rema has urged for collaboration with more American mega stars. At the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards in New Jersey on Tuesday, the singer from Benin expressly stated that he wishes to collaborate with female superstars more.

In a brief interview with Hollywood Reporter, he named a few artists he is looking forward to working with shortly, including the rappers Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion.

Rema knocked out Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, and others to win the first-ever 2023 MTV Video Music Awards for “Best Afrobeats Song” on Tuesday at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, USA. Rema thanked the Nigerian music greats Davido, Burna Boy, and Wizkid for their contributions to afrobeats and for putting the genre on the international stage as he accepted his prize.

Still on the subject of awards, at the recently concluded Headies Awards, Rema took home awards for best male artist, best digital artist, and best African artist. In addition, Director K, who directed the music video for the “Calm Down” remix, received best music video, while Selena Gomez, who collaborated with Rema on the international hit “Calm Down,” won international artiste of the year.
