Selena Gomez Explains Why She Won’t Watch Her Documentary Ever Again

In Los Angeles, California, on Tuesday, Selena Gomez spoke about her Apple TV+ documentary My Mind & Me, which covered six years of her life and was released in November 2022. The singer, actor, and Rare Beauty businesswoman discussed her concerns about making the movie with Thrive Global CEO Arianna Huffington and Universal Music Group CEO Sir Lucian Grainge.

Prior to the documentary’s debut last year, Gomez admitted to Rolling Stone that she nearly declined to approve the film’s distribution. However, she continued with the project after seeing its emotional impact on the audience after the screening.

Gomez discussed all facets of her own mental health journey and what lies ahead for the Only Murders in the Building actor as she wrapped up the all-day West Hollywood event. And although though Gomez is a multifaceted artist who also owns her own cosmetics company and stars in a critically acclaimed comedy series, she has no plans to publish a book any time soon.

Gomez made a musical comeback in August of last year with the pop song “Single Soon.” She made hints about her upcoming musical approach when her documentary was out last year. The discussion also included artificial intelligence (AI), which is still a hot topic in Hollywood as the two strike negotiations continue.
