On May 15, the singer turned himself in to the authorities and was arrested. He alleged that the police officer had made an attempt on his life but opted not to pursue legal action. He was then detained, handcuffed, and transported to the state CID in Panti, Yaba, for further investigation. However, he was released on May 23 after satisfying his bail requirements. Later, he faced charges in court for assaulting a police officer, violating Section 356 of the Nigerian Criminal Code Act.
