Simi Shares Her Plans For Her Next Album

Beloved Nigerian songstress Simi, has announced that her album will be released in 2024.

In an interview with actor and TV personality Taymesan for the Tea with Tay podcast, Nigerian musician Simisola Bolatito Kosoko disclosed the details of her upcoming album. Given that her previous album, Simisola, was released in 2022, fans are excitedly awaiting this new release.

The melodious vocalist highlighted her upbringing without a musical background as she talked about her marriage, family, and music during the interview. She revealed that she had her musical awakening when she was eight years old, at which moment she decided she wanted to become a professional musician.

The artist also talked about her time as an undergraduate studying mass communication at Covenant University. She was reluctant to talk about her experience at Covenant University at first, but she finally did.

She expressed severe disagreement with several of the institution’s principles, even as she acknowledged the beneficial impact the school had had on her life. She started off performing religious songs in the early years of her career, with Ara Ile being the most well-known tune at the time.

But it was the song Tiff that marked a sea change in her career. She then worked with Falz on the Jamb question, and after realizing how well these collaborations worked, she and her managers released other features, including Chemistry, Foreign, and Soldier.
