SZA Teases The Release Of Unreleased Tracks From The “Ctrl” Era This Week

In celebration of Ctrl’s five-year anniversary, SZA has hinted at releasing previously unheard songs. On Monday, the TDE singer disclosed her big date plans via Twitter. “Unreleased songs from 2017 to celebrate 5 .. me thinks,” said SZA in the tweet.

“Drew Barrymore,” “Love Galore,” “The Weekend,” “Broken Clocks,” and “Garden (Say It Like Dat)” are among the five singles from Ctrl, which was released on June 9, 2017. Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar, James Fauntleroy, and Isaiah Rashad all make appearances on the album.

SZA hasn’t released any new music in the five years since Ctrl was launched. In 2018, she collaborated with Kendrick Lamar on the song “All The Stars” for the Black Panther album. She collaborated with Doja Cat on the smash track “Kiss Me More.” SZA collaborated with Kali Uchis on “Fue Mejor” in 2021, however Ctrl is her only studio album.

SZA said at the Met Gala in early May to Vogue about new music unrelated to her 2017 album: “The album’s finally ready to go — more than I’ve ever felt before. So this summer, it’ll be a SZA summer.” Later this year, SZA will headline the Day N Vegas music event.

The cues have been given. TDE’s Queen is expected to release new music soon.
