The Game Drops Rick Ross Diss “Freeway’s Revenge”

The Game, a Compton-based rapper, has a reputation for being one of the most aggressive artists in the music industry. He has been involved in several feuds with other famous rappers, like 50 Cent, Dr. Dre, and Eminem. Recently, he has set his sights on Rick Ross, taking multiple shots at him on various platforms. The Game’s latest attack on Ross started with him poking fun at the Miami rapper’s weight. He posted an edited photo on his Instagram story that shows Ross running while dressed in a corrections officer outfit and carrying a bucket of chicken. In response, The Game confirmed on May 10 that a rap battle was brewing with his new song, “Freeway’s Revenge.”

The Compton rapper wastes no time getting to the point in the song. He raps about cutting Rick Ross’ stomach open and stuffing it with bricks, a horrifying visual that plays on Ross’ kingpin persona. The song’s opening lines set the tone for the rest of the disc, filled with seething anger and insults aimed at Ross. Throughout the track, The Game repeatedly jabs at Ross’ weight, calling him “12 lemon pepper wings away from a heart attack.” He also references an AI photo of Ross running that he posted earlier, making fun of his attire and carrying a chicken bucket.

The song’s second half sees The Game shift his focus to Ross’ past as a corrections officer. He mocks Ross by imitating his voice and using his old lyrics against him. The beat changes to something that Ross usually raps over himself, adding to the overall menacing vibe of the disc. In addition to targeting Ross, The Game also makes references to the Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar beef. He name-drops DJ Akademiks and Kai Cenat, two streamers covering the feud. The game seems to be trying to insert himself into the battle by calling out Drake and Kendrick Lamar by name. Overall, The Game’s soundtrack is entertaining but doesn’t reveal anything new about Ross. It remains to be seen how Ross will respond to The Game’s latest attack and whether this rap battle will escalate further.
