Memphis Rap Phenom Continues to Dominate 2023 with New Album and Upcoming Tour

Memphis-based rap sensation NLE Choppa has released the highly anticipated music video for his track “Cold Game,” featuring the legendary Rick Ross. The video, which showcases the duo’s dynamic synergy, is a highlight from Choppa’s latest album, Cottonwood 2 (Deluxe).

The music video presents a cinematic experience, with Choppa and Ross delivering their verses against the backdrop of a grand mansion. The scenes transition between models lounging by the pool and the rappers demonstrating their star power. Choppa is seen enjoying a jet ski ride, making it rain in a club, and finally, taking in the city’s skyline from a luxury yacht at night. This collaboration with Ross solidifies Choppa’s status as a rising “Boss” in the rap industry.

This release follows a series of high-quality music videos from Choppa. His recent video for “Champions” featured cameos from sports legends such as Mike Tyson, Floyd Mayweather, and LeBron James. Choppa’s collaboration with Kodak Black, Jimin of BTS, JVKE, & Muni Long on “Angel Pt 1” from the Fast X Original Motion Picture Soundtrack has already amassed over 109 million streams and 23 million YouTube views.

Choppa’s rise to fame in 2023 has been meteoric, with recent features on the covers of TMRW and Pause Mag. TMRW praised his success, stating, “a moment is something he’s undoubtedly achieved,” while Pause Mag noted his inspirational and hyper-aware nature.

Fans can look forward to seeing Choppa live as he joins Lil Durk on the upcoming Sorry For The Drought Tour, set to hit arenas and amphitheaters throughout the summer. Additionally, Choppa will make his television debut in the final season of Grown-ish, premiering on June 28th on Freeform.

Cottonwood 2 (Deluxe) showcases the young artist’s diverse talents. The original album debuted at #1 on Spotify’s Top Album chart, and the breakout single “Ain’t Gonna Answer” featuring Lil Wayne was the #1 most added single at radio. The deluxe edition includes nine new tracks, including a remix of the viral hit “Slut Me Out” featuring St. Louis rapper Sexyy Red.
