Toosii’s Debut Album ‘NAUJOUR’ Hits the Shelves

Rising Star Toosii Releases First Album, Featuring Hit Single 'Favorite Song'

In a significant development in the music industry, Toosii, the Syracuse-born artist, has released his debut album ‘NAUJOUR’. The album, which was eagerly awaited by fans and critics alike, was launched on June 2nd under the banner of South Coast Music Group, Capitol Records, and Universal Music Canada.

The 23-year-old artist, whose real name is NauJour Lazier Grainger, has been making waves in the music industry with his unique blend of raw emotion and street-smart lyrics. His journey from a kid surrounded by tragedy to a national sensation full of promise has been nothing short of inspiring. His music, often described as jarringly honest, resonates with listeners, making him one of the brightest stars in the music industry today.

The album ‘NAUJOUR’ features 19 tracks, including the RIAA Gold-certified ‘Favorite Song’, which has been a chartbuster on the Billboard Hot 100, currently ranking at No. 13. The song has also hit No. 1 on the Billboard Rap Streaming Songs chart and entered the top 10 of Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs tally. The track, which has been featured in over three million global TikTok creations, has amassed more than 112 million combined global streams.

In addition to the original tracks, the album also features a stunning new version of ‘Favorite Song’ with multi-platinum global superstar Khalid. The voices of the two artists blend beautifully in this version, with Khalid adding a poignant verse pledging his steadfast support to someone aching for love and peace.

Toosii’s debut album release comes on the heels of his late-night television debut on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’, where he performed ‘Favorite Song’. The performance was well-received, further cementing Toosii’s place in the music industry.

However, some critics have pointed out that while Toosii’s raw emotion and honesty are commendable, the album could have benefitted from a bit more variety in terms of musical styles and themes. They argue that while Toosii’s strength lies in his ability to express vulnerability, exploring different musical genres could have added an extra layer of depth to the album.

Despite this, ‘NAUJOUR’ is a significant milestone in Toosii’s career, showcasing his growth as an artist and his potential to make a lasting impact in the music industry. As Toosii himself puts it, he wants ‘NAUJOUR’ to be a “classic, timeless project” and for people to understand that he is an artist who’s going to be around forever and not just for the moment.
