Wizkid Addresses His Connection With Burna Boy

Wizkid, the Nigerian Afrobeats legend, has opened up about his friendship with Burna Boy, his fellow industry colleague.

Wiz revealed in a recent interview that they first connected while working on Burna Boy’s record “African Giant.” Wizkid, who had originally been expected to work with him on one of the songs, told a funny tale about how, upon arriving at the studio, he was drunk and they ended up tripping over the rhythms. He emphasized the unique bond that sparks innovation, highlighting the synergy between them in the studio.

Wizkid went on to call Burna Boy his family, noting that one can always expect incredible music when two wonderful people are in the same room.

Wizkid announced his love for both Burna Boy and Davido in 2022, a few months after they had reconciled over a ten-year feud at a Lagos bar. The complex relationship between Wizkid and Davido dates back to 2011, when they were just starting out as up-and-coming musicians.

Their fan bases, the “30BG” and the “WizkidFC,” have long been at odds, despite the fact that they have never disclosed the reason for their animosity. Wizkid and Davido shared the stage with each other for the first time and a few more times in 2015. Burna Boy, on his own end, declared his reconciliation with Davido in 2021, though that may not have been very sincere, owing to more recent occurrences between both artists.
