Young Thug Wears Shirt That Reads ‘Sex Records’ To Court
Young Thug is in the middle of a criminal trial, and the shirt’s message raised eyebrows among those in attendance. The rapper had previously told his followers to call him by a certain alias, which made the message on the shirt even more surprising. In November, Young Thug’s lawyer, Brian Steele, argued that his rap name was an acronym for “Truly Humble Under God” and that “Young” was an ode to Tupac Shakur. The shirt’s message seemed to reinforce this claim. Despite the bold fashion statement, Young Thug appeared calm and collected in court. His legal counsel didn’t seem alarmed by his wardrobe choice, and the trial continued as scheduled. However, a retired police sergeant reporting on the trial had a different opinion. He expressed surprise at the shirt’s message and the effect it might have on the jury. Young Thug’s friend, Trontavious “Tick” Stephens, also made a statement in court that day. Unlike Young Thug, he was dressed in a plain shirt, and his testimony didn’t attract the same attention as Thug’s.
