Mide Martins was born in Ibadan, Oyo State, on April 12, 1979. She completed her elementary education at Community Grammar School in Ibadan and her secondary schooling at Providence Heights Secondary School in Fagba, Lagos. She then enrolled at Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ago Iwoye to complete her studies for an international relations diploma. Mide Martin’s mother is Funmi Martins, a renowned actress who died in 2002 from a cardiac attack. Like her mother, Mide has become well-known for her exceptional performing talent.

Not much is known about Mide Martin’s family to the general public except her late mother, her well-known Stepfather, and a few of her brothers’ and half-siblings’ names. “That rumor has existed for two years, and I don’t know what engineered it. Even when people see us together, they still don’t believe we aren’t separated. We went to shoot a movie around Ijebu, Ogun state, some time ago, and immediately, some guys sighted us, and they started arguing. One was happy seeing us together, while others said we were only pretending and were mere colleagues. I don’t know how to convince some people. I am happily married and still live under the same roof with my husband.”

Regarding her husband’s alleged “violence,” she said:

“I have been married for 12 years, and my husband has never raised his hand against me for any reason. We have differences as couples, and I believe that is normal. My husband is a very strong man who is so conscious of himself. What he does most times is to walk out when I get on his nerves.”
