The Game Biography

The Game, Yours Truly, Artists, May 2, 2024

The Game was born Jayceon Terrell Taylor on November 29, 1979, in Compton, California, to Crips street gang members George Taylor and Lynette Baker. Although Taylor grew up to become a member of the Cedar Block Piru Bloods through his brother, he lived in Santana Blocc, an area predominantly under the authority of the Crips. The Game called his family “dysfunctional” in an October 2006 interview with MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway. A leader of the Cedar Block Piru Bloods in West Compton, California, was his older half-brother George Taylor III, better known as the rapper Big Fase 100.

Family

Parents

His parents were drug users. Therefore, he had a difficult childhood. Jayceon was sent into foster care when he was seven after his father allegedly assaulted his sisters. His parents, George Taylor, and Lynette Baker, were Crips gang members. He had a Hoover Crippelette for a mother and a Nutty Block Crip for a father. His father died at 65, and much isn’t known about his mother as he tries to keep her away from the prying eyes of the press.

Siblings

Game’s older brother Jevon, who was 17 years old at the time, was shot at a gas station when he was 13. Recently, his brother had signed a record deal. Taylor claims that he believed his father’s absence contributed to the incident and that his brother would not have been shot if he had been present. Game visited Jevon the day before he passed away, promising that things would improve and time lost would be made up. Another older sibling, Big Fase 100, was a Cedar Block Piru Blood who went to Centennial High School.

Children

The Game has two sons – a 15-year-old son, King Justice, with Tiffany, a 19-year-old son, Harlem, from his previous relationship with Aleska Jordan; and a 12-year-old daughter, Cali Dream, with Tiff.

Girlfriend

The Game, Yours Truly, Artists, May 2, 2024

The daughter of U.S. Congressman G. K. Butterfield, actress, and model Valeisha Butterfield, was the woman Game announced he was engaged to. The engagement was called off in June 2006, just before the ‘scheduled’ March 2007 wedding.

After they called off their engagement, Game started seeing a sixth-grade teacher named Tiffney Cambridge. The Game and Cambridge were the subjects of the reality television series Marrying the Game, which VH1 aired for two seasons as they were ready to wed. It was “love at first sight” when Cambridge and Jayceon met. Despite concerns over Game’s profession, the relationship lasted eight years, but despite the series, there were no preparations for a wedding. Cambridge accused the Game of abusing her physically during their relationship, which he refused.

Lifestyle

The Game, Yours Truly, Artists, May 2, 2024

He attended Compton High School and excelled in sports like track and basketball. After graduating, he allegedly attended Washington State University on a basketball scholarship before being dismissed shortly after that due to drug possession. However, the university refuted this assertion, maintaining that it was more than just drug possession. By 2000, he had completely immersed himself in the “street life” of crime, joining gangs, and dealing drugs. He was once fired at and spent three days in a coma. He became quite interested in music and rap as he was healing. He decided to give up his previous way of life and start over with music.
The Black Wall Street Records, which The Game and his half-brother George, better known as Big Fase, had created, issued his debut mixtape, “You Know What It Is Vol. 1,” in 2002. Get Low Recordz offered him a record contract. He was found by Dr. Dre a short while after, and in 2003, he signed him to his label Aftermath Entertainment. To make Game popular, Dr. Dre, Interscope Records, and G-Unit sent Game to work with them in 2003. The Game’s debut cameo in a music video, 50 Cent’s “In da Club,” was a success. He has since made numerous cameos in music videos for artists including 50 Cent, Young Buck, Lloyd Banks, and Fabolous.

He appeared in advertisements for the Sean John clothing line and supported Boost Mobile while working on his debut album. Additionally, he made appearances on mixtapes for Green Lantern and G-Unit. His major label debut single, “Westside Story,” was released in September 2004. In October, “Untold Story,” which was also a hit, debuted. It sold over 82,000 copies in the first three months. His first album, “The Documentary,” released in January 2005, was a huge hit.
He had initially been given the album the title “Nigga Wit An Attitude Volume 1.” Still, he was forced to change it to “The Documentary” as a result of an injunction brought by the widow of a deceased rapper. 50 Cent, and Dr. Dre created it. Despite his enormous success, Game regrettably fought with other rappers, including 50 Cent and G-Unit, which caused him to leave the Aftermath group.

His ninth album had several name changes before being published in December 2012 under “Jesus Piece.” He clarified that “Jesus Piece” has a gangster theme that emphasizes enjoying life while maintaining trust in God rather than a spiritual one. Its first week in the US saw 86,000 copies sold, and it peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard 200.
He joined Cash Money Records in October 2013 and worked with other Cash Money artists to create the compilation album “Blood Moon: Year of the Wolf” in 2014. In October 2015, his subsequent studio album, ‘The Documentary’s sequel ‘Documentary 2’ was released. In the album, Dr. Dre made a guest appearance. The song ‘El Chapo,’ released in October 2015, was also a joint effort between Game and Skrillex. ‘Without a doubt, The Documentary is The Game’s finest effort. The album sold over 5 million copies worldwide and peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
