Disney+ will debut “The Beach Boys,” a documentary on the legendary band, on May 24.

According to the description, the documentary honors the historic group that transformed pop music and the distinctive, harmonic sound they produced, personifying the California ideal and enthralling listeners for many years to come.

Music icons such as Lindsey Buckingham, Janelle Monáe, Ryan Tedder, and Don Was will be included in “The Beach Boys,” along with never-before-seen film and fresh interviews with band members Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, David Marks, and Bruce Johnston. Ricky Fataar, Blondie Chaplin, and former members Carl and Dennis Wilson are also taking part.

In addition to the film’s debut on May 24, the documentary’s music will be streamed. The limited-edition blue-and-white marble vinyl version of the Beach Boys’ 1964 album “Shut Down Vol. 2” will be available on March 29, coinciding with the movie’s premiere. Also coming out on April 2 via Genesis Publications is the band’s official book, “The Beach Boys by the Beach Boys.”

Disney+ also recently made Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” film available for streaming, and in just three days, it garnered an unprecedented 4.6 million views on the platform. 2021 saw the release of Peter Jackson’s “Get Back,” a documentary about The Beatles, on the streamer.
