Blaqbonez Reacts “Angrily” To Davido’s Album Release Date Announcement

In keeping with his pledge, Afrobeat Juggernaut David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, has ended his social media exile. He announced the release date of his upcoming album, TIMELESS, on his Twitter and Instagram accounts on March 31, 2023.

After losing his son in October 2022, Davido went offline. However, he announced in December that he would return online in March. The FEM singer shared a trailer for his upcoming album and a moving message on the importance of healing in a post on his Instagram. He expressed gratitude to the admirers and friends who stood by him and the others as they went through the grieving process.

Davido wrote;

“There is a time for everything. A time to Grieve and a time to Heal. A time to Laugh and a time to Dance. A time to Speak & A time for Silence. Thank you to everyone out there for your love, and that has held me down. My next album TIMELESS is here on March 31st. Preorder in bio!”

Before OBO confirmed his projected album release date, The Rapper had arranged to release music on the 31st and even took to Twitter to hint at it.

This came as a “big shocker and disappointing reality,” as Blaq put it in his ever-joking-but-message-passing fashion because it is pretty likely that the album response will eclipse his song when they both release on the same day.

Taking to his socials, Blaqbonez wrote,

“Damn. Can’t enjoy anything in this industry ?”

This is not the first time the Superstar has reacted to a Davido project tentatively dropping simultaneously with his. In October 2019, The self-acclaimed Best Rapper in Africa tweeted as he “begged” the Afrobeat Powerhouse not to release any project on a day he proposes, as this would mean that “nobody will pay attention to him.”

This, without a doubt, is one of Blaqbonez’s strategies for raising awareness for his recently released project this month that featured Chike and Reybekah, his Young Preacher album, and this new joint he planned to release on the 31st. Blaqbonez has done good PR for his musical career, from skits to content creations and even engaging in “social media beef” to push his art. However, according to how things are going and how popular Davido’s TIMELESS album is, he will postpone his release date in honor of OBO.
