Burna Boy Splashes Over 5M Naira On Tony Tetuila Following Their Meeting In A Nightclub
Afro-fusion musician Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy, and veteran Nigerian singer Anthony Olanrewaju Awotoye, well known as Tony Tetuila, recently connected, causing social media to erupt in excitement.
It is reported that Burna Boy shocked Tetuila with a present valued at about N5 million when the two musicians first met at a nightclub in Lagos. Online footage of Tetuila’s performance on Friday, May 10, 2024, shows him standing in front of multiple bundles of N500 notes wrapped in nylon as well as a few $100 banknotes strewn at his feet.
Tetuila was shown speaking to the audience through a microphone in a different scene of the clip from the event, praising Burna Boy and referring to him as the “giant of Africa.” In addition, there was a briefcase in the video that was stuffed full of bills.
Social media users were quick to respond to Burna Boy’s surprising gesture and Tetuila’s clearly overwhelmed reaction, praising both of them for their generosity and Tetuila’s gratitude. The incident intensified conversations about the support and camaraderie in Nigeria’s music industry.
Clearly, Burna is on top of the world and has been more generous lately, especially in very unexpected situations and places. He’s also been showing similar generosity to himself as he had reportedly cleared his brand Rolls-Royce Cullinan into Nigeria only days ago.
