Burna Boy’s ‘Love, Damini’ Certified Gold In France

The sixth studio album by African Giant Burna Boy, “Love, Damini,” has received a gold certification from the Syndicat National de L’Edition Phonographique (SNEP). Burna Boy’s sixth studio album, “Love Damini,” which was published in July 2022, has officially been awarded gold certification.It has 19 tracks and was released by Atlantic Records. Notable international stars like J Hus, Victony, Popcaan, Ed Sheeran, J Balvin, and Khalid contributed as guests. Love Damini’s sales have reached 50,000 equivalents, according to SNEP. This popular album’s standout track, “Last Last,” became one of the unofficial anthems of the 2022 summer.

On Spotify, ‘Last Last’ has gathered over 256 million listens, while ‘For Your Hand,’ which features British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, has racked up over 161 million streams. At the 64th Grammy Awards, “Last Last” was nominated for Best Global Music Performance, while the album “Love, Damini” was nominated for Best Global Music Album in 2022. Burna Boy was defeated by Masa Takumi and Wouter Kellerman, Zakes Bantwini, and Nomcebo Zikode in both categories. Burna Boy has been nominated for a 2023 MTV Europe Music Award in the Best Afrobeats category. Other African superstars Asake, Davido, Ayra Starr, Aya Nakamura, and Rema will be his fiercest rivals in this category. Burna Boy has also been nominated for Best Live Performance and Best African Category. On November 5, 2023, the MTV Europe Music Awards will be held.
