“Cupid” By FIFTY FIFTY Tops TikTok’s 2023 Global Chart
“Cupid” by FIFTY FIFTY, the K-pop group’s breakthrough smash that appeared in the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 earlier this year, has reached yet another milestone.
On Wednesday, TikTok named the song the greatest video of 2023 globally. The representative for the K-Pop group stated in a press release that “Cupid – Twin Ver,” with over 20 million creations, is the biggest song on TikTok in 2023.
On the Billboard charts, “Cupid” has also been successful, having peaked at No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100. The track also peaked at No. 1 on the Global Excl. U.S. tally, where it remained for two weeks, and at No. 2 on the Global 200 tally, where it sat pretty for a solid 38 weeks.
With its agency, ATTRAKT, revealing that three of the four members, Aran, Sio, and Saena, had their contracts canceled after filing lawsuits that the company claimed “slandered and defamed the agency” and attempted to break their contracts, FIFTY FIFTY had to undergo a sudden lineup change.
However, after resolving the lawsuit and joining the agency, Keena is the only member of the group that is still active. The four girls members, according to the Korea Times, filed a contract dispute against ATTRAKT in June, alleging that the company had broken the terms of the agreement by “failing to provide accounting data” and disregarding the group’s mental health.
