DDG Reveals Jay-Z’s “Chinese Advice” Given To Him At Beyonce’s Birthday Party

DDG, the rapper, and his partner, Halle Bailey, recently welcomed their first child. Despite the newfound attention from his family, DDG remains fully committed to his music career and is constantly striving to improve his craft. In a recent interview with Hollywood Unlocked, he revealed some insightful advice Jay-Z gave him during Beyonce’s birthday party. Although he has only had a few one-on-one encounters with the renowned rapper, Jay-Z’s words profoundly impacted him, and he is eager to apply them to his music.

DDG said.

“I’ve only talked to [JAY] a few times. It ain’t like I text him and call him and sh*t like that, but we’ve had conversations,”

“When I do see him, I try to ask him for a little bit of game, a little bit of advice. I asked him at [Beyoncé’s] birthday party, I was like, ‘What advice could you give me as an artist?’ And he gave me like an analogy. He was like, ‘If people go to a Chinese restaurant, they expecting Chinese food.’ So, give the people what they came for.”

Jay-Z has established himself as one of the most knowledgeable and wise artists in the hip-hop industry. This has led to a widespread debate about whether one would prefer “dinner with Jay-Z or $500K?” In an interview with Gayle King from CBS News, which took place last year at his “Book of HOV” library exhibit in Brooklyn, Jay shared his opinion on the matter, saying that it would be better to take the $500,000. He explained that his music already contains all the wisdom one would need, and paying $10.99 would be a bad deal. Therefore, he suggested buying his albums with the money, as all the knowledge is already there, waiting to be discovered.
