Drake Samples Kim Kardashian In His New Single, “Rescue Me”

Drake recently co-headlined the Dreamville Festival with J. Cole, but despite that, a song he didn’t perform but may be released soon has garnered a lot of attention. During an episode of Sound 42’s The Fry Yiy Show on SiriusXM Radio on Friday, the popular rapper gave fans a first peek at a brand-new song called “Rescue Me.”

The song uses a clip from the series finale of E!’s Keeping Up With the Kardashians, in which Kim Kardashian talks about her divorce from Ye (previously known as Kanye West).

“I didn’t come this far just to come this far and not be happy. Remember that,” she says in the audio to her mother, Kris Jenner.

The song “Rescue Me” was playing from a DJ controller in footage that producer BNYX published from Drake’s Instagram Story last week. Given the longstanding rivalry between the two rappers, taunting Ye is a well-known technique in Drizzy’s repertoire. By criticizing Ye in his line from Trippie Redd’s “Betrayal” in August 2021, Drake rekindled their dispute.

The Certified Lover Boy MC retaliated after the Donda rapper posted the OVO boss’ home address on social media by criticizing him in “7 a.m. on Bridle Path” and later leaking the then yet-to-be-released “Life of the Party” collaboration between Ye and André 3000 on SiriusXM, leading to the track’s eventual inclusion on the track list for the Donda Deluxe edition.

At the end of the year, when they joined forces to play at J. Prince’s “Free Larry Hoover” benefit event at the Los Angeles Coliseum, the two appeared to have put their differences behind them, but apparently, the 6 god was not feeling it.
