Drake Shares How “One Dance” With Wizkid Came Together

Aubrey Drake Graham, better known as Drake, is a Canadian heavyweight rapper, singer, songwriter, and performer. He has opened up about his collaboration with Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Wizkid.

The hit song “One Dance,” which was released in 2016 off of Drake’s album “Views,” included Wizkid and British singer Kyla Reid. The OVO frontman and founder produced the record. It sold over ten million copies before earning a diamond certification in the US in December 2022, making it one of Drake’s biggest singles.

Speaking on his independently owned radio station, OVO Sound, the global star revealed that the creation of “One Dance” came very naturally after he met Wizkid through Skepta and jumped on the remix of Wizkid’s song “Ojuelegba.” The rapper continued by saying that because “One Dance” was so brand-new to the fanbase, he had doubts about it but was glad to have finally released it.

Drizzy, expressing how happy the record made and still makes him, revealed that renowned producer Boi-1da linked with him the stu while “One Dance” was yet unreleased, and upon hearing the tune, told the 6 god that the track would be his biggest hit. Drake admitted that the producer was not wrong. Listen to the conversation in the recording below.
