Falz Reacts To Sanwo-Olu’s Statement Regarding The Lagos Gubernatorial Elections

Babajide Sanwo-Olu was re-elected as governor of Lagos state in the early hours of Monday, but controversies still surround the decision. Sanwo-Olu received 762,134 votes, according to INEC’s Returning Officer Adenike Oladiji, who also announced the results. His main rivals were Olajide “Jandor” Adediran of the PDP, who received 62,449 votes, and Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the LP, who received 312,329 votes.

The APC party reportedly perpetrated voter intimidation, hate speech, and tribal propaganda in the days leading up to the election. Videos of political thugs roaming the streets of Lagos on election day, on Saturday, and threatening voters who would not back the APC candidate for governor went viral. Folarin Falana, better known by his stage as Falz, a Nigerian musician, responded to the Governor-elect’s victory tweet on Monday, calling the win fraudulent.

Sanwo-Olu expressed his profound gratitude and humility for Lagosians’ enormous support and confidence in a lengthy tweet on Monday. He also thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for establishing a legacy of fairness and democratic outcomes. Unfortunately, although many concurred with Falz’s opinion, a few others were on APC’s side, blatantly defending the election result despite all the glaring election irregularities and violence.

Many other celebs who reacted to the outcome of Saturday’s polls also looked at the matter from Falz’s standpoint.
