Indigenous rapper Illbliss, real name Tobechukwu Melvin Ejiofor, has reacted to recent denigrating comments made by fellow rapper Phenom, regarding Mode 9, a rap veteran in the Nigerian music industry.
Phenom had stated in an interview with The Yarns podcast that he didn’t want to go down the same route as Mode 9, and instead wanted to become as successful commercially as a rapper like Phyno.
The “Murder Dem” rapper made reference to his visit to Phyno’s opulent home and dreamed of a day when his own garage will be decorated with Phantom whips much like Phyno’s.
Illbliss, on his end, expressed his disappointment in his response, saying that not even Phyno, as wealthy and established as he is, would disdain the Hip-hop pioneers who came before him.
Using his X account, the rapper straightened out Phenom, stating that Mode 9 is still a living legend who is and has been highly respected for his important contributions to the hip-hop community in Nigeria.
