Kim Kardashian Lands Lucrative Balenciaga Ambassadorial Role

Balenciaga has appointed Kim Kardashian as its newest representative. Kim K was named as the fashion house’s newest brand ambassador on Monday, a move that has drawn criticism in the wake of the French fashion house’s contentious campaign from nearly two years ago. She expressed her admiration for Balenciaga’s influence on some of her most memorable looks to date and said she was a huge fan of their creative director Demna’s modernity, craftsmanship, and creative approach to design. The amount of money Kim is reportedly receiving for this deal is unknown as of this time, but you have to assume it’s lucrative indeed.

Speaking of the partnership, she termed it  appropriate, considering their long-standing connection, and expressed excitement about the brand’s new chapter with herself as its face. Interestingly, Kim also seemed to make reference to the predicament Balenciaga found itself in in 2022, stating that their bond should be built on mutual trust and “commitment to doing what’s right.”

As you might remember, Kim had expressed her displeasure with Balenciaga’s plan to launch a kid-focused BDSM photo session and said that she was reconsidering her relationship with the brand in 2022. Not only were the images themselves offensive to some, but the spread also included court documents that alluded to a well-known child porn case and were shown in the background. This is why people are astonished that Kim seems to be changing her mind on now.

However, it’s likely that she and the executives at Balenciaga have reached a consensus on this kind of occurrence in the future. In the wake of the BDSM incident, Balenciaga attempted damage control, and on the surface, it seems they have been able to ease her anxieties and convince her to accept a significant collaboration.
