Mayorkun Promises Never To Return To Calabar For Any Other Show

Popular Nigerian Afrobeats musician Mayorkun has canceled Calabar out of his list of performance locations due to an alleged terrible experience at his most recent performance in the state. This move has quickly generated a lot of banter online.

The former DMW signee, best known for hit songs like “Eleko” and “Mama,” voiced his displeasure on social media, piqueing the interest of fans and the general public in the reasons behind his choice. The musician, full name Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel, landed in the state without any obvious problems and was originally scheduled for a gig in Calabar.

A different story emerged, though, as the performer expressed his displeasure on social media following the show. Although the precise reason behind Mayorkun’s complaints is still unknown, rumors have circulated, leading many to believe that a chain valued at millions of Naira was purportedly taken at the Calabar event.

The musician left fans to guess and debate the incident online as he did not specifically say why he was disappointed. Mayorkun posted about his experiences in his posts, hinting at a less than ideal encounter and expressing his dissatisfaction and sadness with what happened.

However, L.A.X, a fellow artist and friend, seemed to be in the know of what transpired, as he responded to Mayor, who also hit back, describing his experience as a “nightmare.”
