Mayorkun Sues A TikTok Influencer For Defamation, Seeking N1B In Damages
Nigerian musician, Adewale Emmanuel Mayowa, popularly known as Mayorkun, has filed a N1 billion defamation lawsuit against TikTok Influencer, Nicki DaBarbie. The lawsuit is a result of Nicki DaBarbie’s claims that Mayorkun and fellow musician Skiibii participated in occult rituals.
According to reports, Nicki DaBarbie made a public accusation against Mayorkun and Skiibii, claiming that they were trying to utilize her for occult rituals. In response to these grave accusations, Mayorkun has moved quickly to protect his name through the legal system. Mayorkun demanded in writing that Nicki DaBarbie stop making disparaging comments about him and Skiibii through his legal team.
The letter demanded that the offending information be removed from all social media platforms within 24 hours and rejected all of the charges made by the TikTok influencer. In addition, Mayorkun’s legal team has requested N1 billion in damages to cover lost endorsements, emotional distress, and legal costs brought on by the slander.
In addition to receiving money, Nicki DaBarbie has been told to formally apologize to Mayorkun on the same social media sites as the remarks that were defamatory.
Skiibii, on his end, has also reacted to the accusations by taking a swipe at the TikTok influencer and sharing a compromising footage of her.
