Music Producer, ID Cabasa, Says Burna Boy Was Chasing Clout With His Claim Of Refusing $5M For A Dubai Gig

Burna Boy, the Grammy-winning artist, recently claimed that he had to decline a $5 million invitation to perform in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, UAE. And this was simply because he would not be able to blow his trees in peace since Emirati law forbids smoking in public.

However, the veteran record producer, Olumide Ogunade, popularly known as ID Cabasa, recently stated this the announcement was most likely a “media stunt.” Cabasa discussed the controversial issue in the most recent episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, co-hosted by Wazobia FM’s Nedu.

The media personality threw the question open to the house when he asked if Burna really sacrificed a cool $5 million show on the altar of cannabis. He wondered if the Afro-fusion star was so addicted he couldn’t go a couple days without it, which is were Cabasa chimed in. ID also seemed puzzled by the situation, saying he honestly thinks all of it was for media clout.

The music producer continued by saying that if the information was accurate, Burna is an adult that can make his own decisions, but that it would never be him. He said he didn’t even need up to that amount. With only $3 million, according to ID, he said he wouldn’t only show up, but he would also bring additional supporting acts along with him.
