‘My Man Freestyle’: Drake’s Son Adonis Releases First Single As ‘For All The Dogs’ Tops Billboard

As his famous father continues to top the Billboard charts, Drake’s son Adonis has officially begun his rap career with the release of his debut track. “My Man Freestyle,” the six-year-old’s first official song, was made available on Sunday, October 15, after a sneak peek of the song appeared after Drizzy’s most recent album, For All the Dogs.

Lil Esso produced the song, which was independently released on streaming services along with a music video on Drake’s YouTube page with a basketball theme. In the video, rookie Gradey Dick of the Toronto Raptors briefly appears. Last week was Adonis’ sixth birthday, and the song was released to celebrate. Over the weekend, Drake shared a video from the celebration on his Instagram Stories, featuring his youngster rapping in front of his pals.

Drake’s ‘For All the Dogs’ made its Billboard 200 debut at No. 1 on Sunday night, as his son grabbed headlines. According to Billboard, the 23-song album sold 402,000 album-equivalent units in its first week after being released on October 6. Streaming accounted for 97% of that total, specifically, 514.01 million on-demand streams, or the fourth highest-ever streaming week.

The only songs with higher streaming totals were Scorpion by Drake (745.92 million in 2018), Certified Lover Boy by Drake(549.26 million in 2022), and Midnights by Taylor Swift (743.67 million in 2021). The Beatles (19) and Jay-Z (14) are the only albums that have dethroned the 6 God(13) more. J. Cole, 21 Savage, SZA, Yeat, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Chief Keef, Bad Bunny, Sexyy Red, Teezo Touchdown, and Lil Yachty are among the celebrities who have appeared on the project. It is Drake’s fourth album in over two years, after ‘Honestly, Nevermind’ from the previous year, ‘Certified Lover Boy’ from 2021, and ‘Her Loss,’ a collaborative effort with 21 Savage.
