Nicki Minaj Gives Emotional Shout-Out To Former Manager

Nicki Minaj recently expressed her heartfelt appreciation for her former manager, Deb Antney, acknowledging her support and guidance during her time as her manager. Antney, also known as Waka Flocka Flame’s mother, played a pivotal role in shaping the Atlanta hip-hop scene as the CEO of Mizay Entertainment. Antney has since taken on a more behind-the-scenes role and co-founded one of Atlanta’s most successful online radio stations, B100, which has helped many aspiring artists launch their careers. On February 17, Minaj posted a video on social media, thanking Antney for always having her back, even during challenging times. The footage showed Antney in the background as Nicki highlighted her valuable contributions to her career. The bond between the two women is a testament to the power of supportive relationships in the music industry.

“This woman is somebody who, no matter what I went through — every time I called her, I would be crying […] and she would be like, ‘girl, that ain’t no big deal, stop!’”

“It was great for me to see a woman in the music business have my back. You know? And tell me that there wasn’t nothing wrong with me.”

Antney is a well-known music manager who has appeared on the popular reality TV show VH1’s Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta due to her involvement in the storyline of Waka Flocka and his then-wife Tammy Rivera. However, her success in the music industry is much more profound. She has managed a roster of some of the biggest names in hip-hop, including Gucci Mane, French Montana, Nicki Minaj, and her son, Waka Flocka.
