Nollywood Actor Sylvester Madu Narrowly Escapes Death After Being Ambushed By Gunmen At A Filming Location
In a rather shocking turn of events, Nollywood actor Sylvester Madu nearly escaped death after being viciously attacked by gunmen in Bamenda, Cameroon. Based on available information, the actor recently took a work trip to Cameroon on November 23 for the sake of a film project. Upon arrival, Cameroonians greeted him affectionately. Heck, they were ecstatic!
But on November 25, at around ten o’clock at night, some unidentified gunmen attacked the actor and the others accompanying him at a snooker game competition they had been invited to, according to an official statement. It was also later discovered that the attack claimed the lives of four people and left over ten critically injured.
Fortunately, Sylvester Madu escaped unharmed since the Cameroonian police moved quickly to resolve the issue. The entire event has also been confirmed by a press release issued by the film company that brought Sylvester Madu to Cameroon for the shoot.
The statement also stated that around midnight, the wounded were taken to the hospital where they are still receiving treatment. The film company also tendered an apology to Nigeria and the actor’s family, expressing their regret in not being able to put plans in place to avoid such a chaotic situation.
