Offset Relives “Takeoff Tribute” BET Awards Performance With Quavo; Says Set Was Put Together In 16 Hours

The current interactions between the remaining group members after Takeoff’s unfortunate death will delight Migos fans. Offset recently appeared live on Instagram to discuss his performance with Quavo at the 2023 BET Awards. In addition to describing the show as “iconic,” he also stated that it was only put together in roughly 16 hours.

The performer added that Takeoff, a deceased member of the Migos who passed away in 2022, was the reason they gave the performance. Offset asserts:

“We’re the greatest group ever to touch the mic, R.I.P. to my brother [Takeoff] .”

In his explanation, he expressed gratitude to those who stood with him and said,

“Me and [Quavo] stood tall, It was a movie, “It was a vibe; we needed that for the culture.”

Their followers and peers were as astounded by the unexpected performance. Backstage, T.I. chimed in, calling the performance “Goddamn monumental.” He said, “Something they gonna be talking about in ten years from now.” Since Takeoff’s passing, the duo hadn’t performed together before. Pyrotechnics were used throughout the performance, and a large image of their late partner with the Migos was displayed behind them.

Offset admitted he and Quavo worked on the BET Awards performance for hours and even gave up sleep to make sure everything was perfect. Everything was secured, including the lighting, stage positioning, and performance graphics. After a long day of work, the two entertained the crowds with a performance of Migos’ 2016 hit single “Bad N Boujee.”

Fans are now hopeful that Offset and Quavo would release some new music soon in response to their recent reunion. Sadly, it was revealed earlier this week that they intend to wait for the time being. After rumoured backstage fighting at the 2023 Grammy Awards, viewers were excited to see the two reconcile. According to reports, the altercation featured Offset’s wife, Cardi B, and another tribute to Takeoff. Offset used social media to refute the purported physical argument after it happened. He also referred to the accusers as “crazy.”

Last month, Patrick Xavier Clark was officially charged with murdering Takeoff. Offset recently revealed that his upcoming album would be his final work with the Migos colleague. Travis Scott, Cardi B, Chloe Bailey, Latto, and Future will also be included on the album; it has been announced.
