Omawumi Makes A Powerful Comeback With Her New Album, “More”

Iconic Nigerian vocal powerhouse, Omawumi, has reemerged on the music scene with the release of her brand-new album, “More.” The singer-songwriter has established herself as one of Nigeria’s most clear voices with four studio albums and one EP. Her boundless vocal abilities allow her to easily show a wide range of emotions.

Her climb to success in the Nigerian music industry began when she placed second in the 2007 West African Idols competition. Her remarkable style and unique voice have made a lasting impression on the industry, making her one of the best Nigerian female singers to ever touch the microphone.

In her most recent studio effort, “More,” Omawumi makes use of her special storytelling style which has served her pretty well in the past. The new record touches on a wide range of topics related to spirituality, fear, and love.  Telling stories from both her recent and ancient past lends the album a humanistic touch and a hint of humility.

The singer also showed some progressiveness by featuring alternative new school rapper, Abuja’s beloved PsychoYP. The slight alteration in her style also feels natural, like a musical version of her she grew into, as she seems to still remain in her element. “More” is now up DSPs for your listening pleasure.
