South African Singer, Filah Lah Lah, Releases Her Highly-Anticipated Debut Album, “On Air”

Filah Lah Lah, a South African R&B singer and songwriter, has finally published her long-awaited debut studio album, “On Air,” which houses 18 tracks.

Heartfelt lyrics and soulful melodies combine in an unconventional way on this album. Several of the tracks, such as “Ready,” “Time Last Night,” “Nobody,” and “Few Things,” highlight Filah Lah Lah’s unique musical style and reflective lyrics.

The previously released singles “Call Me” and “Past Myself” are included in the album. Along with Patty Monroe on the tune “Tourmaline,” Mars Baby on “Right With You,” and Blxckie on “Nobody,” the project also includes other South African musicians.

Born Reabetswe Fila Ranamane, Filah Lah Lah was inspired to pursue a career in music by her late father, who made great efforts to make sure that singers such as Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, Nina Simone, and Betty Wright influenced her. Her time as a musician started soon after she enrolled in law school.

With its tinkling piano melody layered over 1990s hip hop sounds, her debut single “Feels Like” pays homage to the jazz greats she grew up listening to. The song was released in late 2019. The ascent of Filha Lah Lah in the music business has been nothing short of remarkable.

Her first single, “Call Me,” was released in less than six months, and she was nominated for a Metro FM Music Awards in the Best R&B category. The album is now available for streaming and download on all major digital platforms.
