Taylor Swift Set To “Direct Film” After Eras Tour Ends

Taylor Swift is all set to make her feature-length directorial debut for Searchlight Pictures after her current ‘Eras Tour’ ends. In December, she announced that she had written an original script for the movie, but the plot and characters are still shrouded in secrecy. Searchlight presidents David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield praised Swift as a “once-in-a-generation artist and storyteller” and expressed their excitement about collaborating with her.

Swift has already directed award-winning music videos for her songs ‘All Too Well’ and ‘The Man’ and acted in several films, including Cats, Valentine’s Day, and Amsterdam. According to a recent article by Puck’s Matt Belloni, Swift will start working on her directorial debut once the ‘Era’s’ tour ends, expected at the end of 2024 or early 2025.

During her ‘Eras Tour’ concert in Tokyo, Japan, Swift surprised her fans and played ‘Superman’. Calling it the “acoustic session,” she revealed that she loves challenging herself by playing songs that she has never played live before or hasn’t played on this tour. ‘Superman’ from the deluxe edition of her third album, ‘Speak Now’, was last performed live in 2011, while Swift also played a piano version of ‘The Outside’ from her 2006 self-titled debut album for the first time since 2008.

Swift fans can look forward to an extended version of her ‘Eras Tour’ concert film, which will be released globally on Disney+ on March 15. Her 11th studio album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department’, will be released on April 19.
