Tems Speaks On Rejections Faced As An Up-And-Comer Artiste
Temilade Openiyi, better known as Tems, is a Nigerian singer who has risen to fame as a musician. The Afrobeats Queen Tems has now shared her motivation for doing so. She claimed that no one was interested in producing songs for her when she was starting, so she decided to study and master music production.
Tems mentioned that she was her inspiration and that she had assured herself she could do it on Jazzy World TV during an interview. The songwriter claimed that her ability to shape her sound as she desired made it easier for her to develop the sound for which she is currently recognized.
The “Essence” crooner urged everyone to ‘pursue excellence with tenacity and abandon complacency.’ She said, “No one wanted to produce for me back then, and so I said I can do this myself, and it made me create my sound,”
Tems won Her second collaborative Grammy after appearing for Wizkid’s “Essence” and, recently, Future’s “Wait for You.” She also contributed to Queen Bey’s “Renaissance” Album, winning a Grammy.
Tems has also continued to be in the charts as her songs as her stunning rendition of Bob Marley’s song “No Woman, No Cry,” the gifted vocalist Tems had reached the top spot on the Billboard Charts. With her renowned interpretation of Bob Marley’s No Woman No Cry for the Black Panther film, she made her solo debut at number one on the Billboard Charts.
The amazing Nigerian singer debuted number one on the Billboard Global Digital Song Sales Chart with the smash song; however, this is not her first number-one single on the chart. Tems also debuted at number one on the list with her and Wizkid’s song “Essence.”
