Teni Explains That Her Upcoming Album Will Be Her Most Vulnerable

Teni discusses her new album’s inspiration, projected release date, and what listeners are likely to expect from it. Teniola Apata, also known as Teni or Teni the entertainer, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and performer who is regarded as one of the queens of Afrobeats and who admirably represents the female category in the music entertainment industry and the entertainment industry as a whole.

With hit singles like Fargin, Wait, Uyo Mayo, and Case among others that topped charts and garnered her recognizable awards, Teni Makanaki, as she is more commonly known, is renowned for her ever-vibrant and vivacious stage control during concerts and performances. These accomplishments solidify Makanaki as an authentic stage name.

The Case and Fargin singer stated that she is presently working on her second studio album, which is scheduled to be released in October 2023, during an interview on the Tea with Tay podcast. Teni stated that the album would be her most vulnerable work. When questioned about the motivation for the new album, she said, “Pain, growth, and love.”

Later in the same interview, the singer discussed how her childhood and upbringing were impacted by the death of her father, late Brig. Gen. Simeon Apata (retd.), on January 8, 1995.
