Born on May 5, 1971, Benjamin Okezie Kalu is a politician from Nigeria who now serves as the deputy speaker of the Nigerian House of Representatives. He was elected to the position without facing any opposition in 2023. In the House, he is the federal representative for Bende. After serving as a student representative at the University of Calabar for three years, Benjamin Okezie Kalu graduated from there.
At the age of thirty one, he was the youngest local government chairman in Bende, Abia State, Nigeria. Before becoming the governor’s senior special adviser on the Millennium Development Goals and international relations at the age of 35, he served as the senior special adviser to the then-governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu, on local government and chieftaincy affairs when he was 34.
